I believe this dress is 80s, and it is such an interesting blend of inspirations, from 1920s sailor-inspired middy to 1940s strong shoulder day dress. The bodice is styled with wide rounded neckline and oversized bermuda collar, set off by two rows of thin black braid. The collar center is accented by a faux black tie. Shoulders are padded and three quarter length sleeves are puffed at the top. Most of the set-in waist is elasticized for custom fit. The straight skirt is topped by a knife pleated peplum, also trimmed with the rows of black braid. The back of the skirt has a slit for ease in walking.

FABRIC/COLORS: Heathered magenta, medium weight fabric that looks a bit like homespun up close, but not harsh to touch. It is a rayon/poly blend. Machine wash or dry clean according to tag. Flat corded trim and faux tie are black.
